This is one of my extra credit projects. I made this simple coffee mug and then experimented with the tan and white glaze.
This is one of my extra credit projects. I made this bowl for my sister because green and purple are her favorite colors. I have this simple shape a complex glaze to give it a pattern.
This is one of my extra credit projects. I made this for my best friend for Christmas! My friend is currently a freshman at Washington State Universtity therefore, I made her this small bowl with the WSU logo. On the other side of the bowl it has "GO COUGS!" painted on it. This project tested my artistic ability with being able to paint on the logo.
For my second choice project I chose to make a candle holder for my mother. I wanted to make this piece as round as possible to give it almost the shape of a ball. I glazed my candle holder in many layers of cobalt blue to get the deep, rich color.
This is my wheel altered project. First, I threw a cylinder on the wheel. Once I took it off the wheel I pinched these pieces of clay together to create this shape. The shape of this piece reminds me of a cobalt blue starfish!
This is my set of three bowls. Since, my mom uses the bowls I make in ceramics I thought it would be best to make bowls for my set of three. I glazed each of these bowls with black, white and green glaze. However, I dipped each bowl in a different order of the glazes to create a slight variation between the three.
These are my two plates that I made this quarter. To make these pieces I had to watch the videos online in order to know how the steps on how to make plates. I am very happy with the way they turned out. Especially how the green and white glaze blended to make the light blue (in the middle of cobalt blue).
This is my second bowl for the second quarter of the year. I reinforced my skills of pulling up and creating a lip to make the bowl shape. Due to its simple shape I experimented with the green scrap, cobalt blue, white and turquoise glaze.
